Last Post

Well, 2,882 posts since last June seems to me to be a fair return. I'd always planned to review after six months but I carried on a little to see if things with Blogger would improve. They haven't - they've got considerably worse and as a result, so have my frustrations and it's more than just being unable to post pics. The whole software package just seems amateurish and cobbled together. What you see might be what you get but often isn't and you just can't be sure.

The truth is that I can't carry on anyway. This blog started every morning at 6.30am and I then managed a couple of posts by running home at lunchtime with the remainder being posted at between 6pm and 8pm, at which time I have to vacate the PC. I can no longer do this without having a severe effect on my health and I can't let that happen.

The other serious development is that I no longer enjoy surfing the net. Practically all my (online) time is spent visiting those sites from which the links are posted. Inevitably, this limits my visits to sites which may feature other subjects I like or which I find interesting but not in a blogging sense. I want some time back for me. Selfish? Probably but I need to do it.

Thanks for visiting Fawn Jotters and many thanks to all those other Bloggers who contacted me or left constructive points in comments. You're good folk.

That's a shame. :(
I go through little periods of getting sick of it but I usually get over it.
I agree it is damn hard work keeping a blog going for any length of time. I only manage because I've retired from work due to illness and I have plenty of time on my hands.

Let me know if you start up again and I will put you back in my sidebar.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do in the future.
Take it easy. Steve.

That sucks. You were a daily read for me.

I've been thinking the same thing about blogging though. I can't decide whether to go on occasionally, make The Primate Journal a group blog or just give up.

Anywho... best of luck with all your endeavors.

I'm not happy about it either but I can't see any way of carrying on. Primate Journal has great content and that to me seems the important thing. If you're happy with occasional high quality content rather than the rushed, "have to do 15 posts a day" stuff that I was up to, then you'll have a top class blog of which to be proud. More importantly, it's sustainable.

But what do I know? Do what you think is right - your blogs prove you've got it.

Thanks for the good wishes - and the same to you.

Sorry to see you go, you were always a good read. But I know what you mean. Sometimes it's hard to find the inspiration to keep posting.

Good luck on whatever it is you do!

How ironic that you did this the very day I finally got around to putting you on my permanent blogroll!

Don't feel guilty about taking some time to do other things. Blogging should be fun, like any other project, and there's nothing wrong with cooling off from it. If you decide to start posting again, let me know and I'll add you to my blogroll again.

Honoured Sir,

I am saddened by the act that you are stopping your blog. It has been a daily read for me since I discovered it several months ago. I hope that you may leave what is here available for some time.
Thank you.

That's a great shame.

I had a strange feeling over the weekend you may announce something like this.

I can't disagree with your reasoning, mind.

Very best wishes for the future.

Can I join the clamour of people saying please don't stop. Personally I really aprreciate and get a kick out of being linked to by you since it puts me in good company and yours in one of my very regular reads as you have an eye for a good link.
If you do decide not to carry on then good luck for the future and thanks for the past 2882 posts (I thought I was prolific but that's a huge amount in that time).

I have a request, how did you find the material for Fawnjotters? I have thought of creating a similar website and would appreciate any pointers that you might provide.

Your health is more important.

Maybe someday (soon hopefully!) you'll find yourself ready to blog again.

I will surely miss your quick wit and banter.

Thank-you for all the entertainment, Fawn!!!

Sorry to hear you're leaving. You've done a wonderful job with Fawn Jotters. I've visited it every day for several weeks now and have found great things to link to on my own blog. I had to leave Blogger about a year ago after having the same sorts of technical problems. I went to TypePad and things have been better, although it costs real money to use. If you aren't having fun though, there's no sense in keeping it up. All the best!

Viagra is the world renowned medicine for erectile dysfunction and most men have forgotten they ever had a problem with erections after its use. Take it on empty stomach and it will work in 30 minutes. Erections can be achieved on stimulation.

Last Post" bet basketball is a bugle call used at Commonwealth military funerals and ceremonies commemorating those who have fallen in war. "The Last Post" is also the name of a poem by Robert Graves describing a soldier's sportsbook funeral during World War I. "Last Post" was originally a bugle call used in British Army camps to signal the end of the day. The name derives from the practice of inspecting all the sentry posts around such a camp at the end of the day, and playing a bugle call at each of them. The "last post" was thus the last point of this inspection, march madness and the bugle call signalling that this post had been inspected marked the end of the military day. This custom dates from at least the 17th century, and originated with British troops stationed in The Netherlands, where it drew on an older Dutch custom, called Taptoe. The Taptoe was also used to signal the end of the day, but has more prosaic origin.
